PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Teddington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bongo Drum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Teddington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bongo Drum!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teddington with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Drum to counter with a crisp jab.
Teddington takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bongo Drum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drum scores with a jab to the head.
Drum scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Donk. Drum catches Teddington right on the button with a cross.
Drum scores with a shot to the body.
Drum lands a really nice looking cross but Teddington seems unphased.
Drum circles away from the clinch attempt.
Teddington walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Drum closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Teddington quickly recovers to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Drum is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Teddington is trying to maintain the position but Drum is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Drum in particular looking to stall.
Teddington wants to improve his position but Drum is controlling well.
Drum moves into full mount! Teddington won't be happy about that!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Teddington tries to lock up and control but Drum gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The referee warns Teddington that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Teddington wants to hold on but Drum pushes him away.
Drum content just to control the position here.
Drum lands a couple of good shots and Teddington has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Teddington is really stuck here.
Drum thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Can Teddington hold on?! Drum is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Drum is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Teddington defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Drum is hanging on to Teddington's back as he tries to escape.

Drum has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Teddington.

Drum has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Teddington has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Drum lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Drum.
Teddington wants to get back to his feet.

Drum is riding his opponent, not letting Teddington buck him off.
Drum's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Teddington rolls, trying to escape but Drum keeps control of the position.
Drum is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Drum controlling the position well here. Teddington rolled but Drum kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bongo Drum dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Teddington is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Drum stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Teddington gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Teddington throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Drum unleashes a big counter combination but Teddington bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Drum. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Teddington has a takedown stuffed.
The crowd cheers as Drum lands an impressive looking overhand right. Teddington doesn't seem phased though.


Teddington is rocked!
Drum has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Teddington is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Drum lands with a right hand.
Oh Teddington is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Drum lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Drum connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Teddington out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bongo Drum!
A less than humble Bongo Drum misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
