The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stylez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nelson quickly recovers to half guard.
Nelson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nelson wants to control but Stylez is keeping busy.
Nelson is looking to improve his position.

Stylez is trying to work for a kimura but Nelson is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nelson is positioning himself well to prevent Stylez advancing to mount.

Nelson tries to get to full guard but Stylez has control of the leg.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Stylez moves into the clinch.

Stylez wants the takedown. Nelson is fighting it off but Stylez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nelson's guard against the cage.

Nelson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stylez defends it easily.

Nelson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Nelson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nelson looks to land a body kick but Stylez moved away.

Stylez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nelson, pushing him back against the cage.

Stylez pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stylez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nelson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stylez stacks Nelson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stylez!

Stylez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Crunch! Nelson slams his shin into Stylez's torso.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nelson wants to clinch.
Stylez wants to counter the offense by Nelson and move into the clinch position.

Nelson tries to clinch there but Stylez circles away.
Quinton Nelson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stylez digs a good hook to Nelson's body.

Stylez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nelson sprawls well initially but Stylez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nelson is staying active underneath Stylez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Stylez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nelson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Stylez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Nelson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Stylez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nelson is trying to maintain the position but Stylez is very close to passing his half guard.
Nelson is looking for a sweep. Stylez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Stylez is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
