Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Steele!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Darius Henderson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Po throws a combination that misses

and Steele counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steele.
Po keeping full guard, as Steele tries to pass.

Po wriggles free and stands up.

Steele drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Steele wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Po , who protects the arm well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Steele goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Po rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Steele's guard! Nice work there by Po !

Steele working for a triangle but Po defends it easily.
Po has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Steele is proving hard to escape from.
Steele manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Po manages to get himself to full guard.


Steele is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Po is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Po has escaped and now he's on top!

Steele has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Po is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Steele.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Steele throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Po escapes and throws Steele's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Steele goes for a takedown attempt but Po pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

George Steele has got the better of the ground game so far.

Steele goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Po has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Steele but great work by Po .

Steele has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Po can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close second round but George Steele will probably get the nod - 10:9.

George Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Po lands a big head kick that sends Steele tumbling to the mat! Po takes a step backwards and waves Steele back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Po is stalking Steele. Steele circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Po , and it's lights out! Steele really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Tong Po is the new light heavyweight champion!
An out of breath Tong Po thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
