The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havel moves out of range as Potapenko strikes.
Potapenko throws a jab but it's blocked by Havel.
Havel feinted with a counter takedown.
Potapenko works the jab nicely.
Potapenko gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Potapenko lands an uppercut.
Potapenko digs a right hand underneath Havel's ribcage. Havel let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Potapenko is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Potapenko gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Havel.
Potapenko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Havel backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Havel is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Potapenko pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Havel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Potapenko just misses with a elbow thrown towards Havel's brow.
Havel is trying to drag Potapenko to the mat but Potapenko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Potapenko lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Potapenko stops a takedown attempt from Havel.
Havel tries to score a body lock takedown but Potapenko shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A nice right hand lands inside from Potapenko.
Potapenko lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Potapenko lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Potapenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Potapenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Potapenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Potapenko feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Havel sprawling to the canvas! Havel rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Potapenko finish him?!
Havel is rocked!
It looks like John Havel has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Potapenko tries to bum rush Havel with a series of wild strikes but Havel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Havel attempts a counter takedown but Potapenko avoids it well and moves away.
Potapenko lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Havel head around and knocks him out cold! Potapenko hops onto the ropes and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
