Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kartes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Burt on his heels. He'll look to pass Burt's guard now, I'm sure.
Burt wants to control the position but Kartes says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Kartes prevents Burt from improving his position.
Burt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Burt manages to get to full guard.
Kartes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Kartes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Burt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kartes looking to pass the guard.
Burt is controlling Kartes's posture.

Burt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kartes trying to control but Burt is working from the bottom.
Kartes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Burt's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Kartes advances position into side control!
Burt is looking to reverse the position.
Burt wants to get back to his feet but Kartes drags him back down.
Burt on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Kartes lands some shots froms side control.

Burt manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Burt is trying to control but can't.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Burt gets back to full guard.
Kartes wanted to stand there but Burt had control of the position.
Kartes trying to control the position from guard on top but Burt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burt has control of Kartes's left arm, preventing Kartes from doing any damage.
Burt is trying to control the position but Kartes postures up.
Burt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kartes is one step ahead there.

Kartes tries to free his leg and advance position but Burt is retaining full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kartes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Burt!
Burt wants to control but Kartes postures up.
Kartes is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Burt's shoulder. That is not cool.
Kartes working away.
Kartes has hold of Burt's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Burt seems comfortable defending it but Kartes has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Burt is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Burt is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kartes couldn't care less - he's delighted!
