Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodney Carney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Ripper!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carney scores with a nice right hand.
Ripper tries to clinch up.
Carney works Ripper's body with a nice hook.
Carney sizes up Ripper with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Carney closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Chip Ripper has been cut.
Carney digs a good hook to Ripper's body.
A combination from Ripper does no damage.

Carney feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ripper looks winded!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carney postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.


Ripper is rocked!
Carney stands up over Ripper, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Ripper is still in real trouble! Can Carney finish him?
Carney advances to half guard.
Carney is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ripper seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carney sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ripper defending well though.
Carney landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carney moves into full mount! Ripper won't be happy about that!
Carney postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ripper looks a forlorn figure.

Ripper takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Carney postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Ripper badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Carney around the waist but Carney pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Carney is the winner by TKO! Carney jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodney Carney!
In his post fight interview, Rodney Carney gave a big smile as he said 'I'm still frustrated over losing that title fight and Im glad I got to fight again so soon. Props to Chip for stepping up on such short notice. He's a great fighter but no way im losing tonight. Thanks Gamasi! Il work my way to contention once more.'.
