The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King swings for the body but Plexico moves out of range.
Plexico clobbers King with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Plexico throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
King is looking to counter punch.
King avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
King throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Plexico on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Plexico throws a left and a right that both miss
and King counters with a solid body kick.
Plexico misses with a body kick.
Plexico lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but King circles away quickly and effectively.
A head kick misses from Plexico.
Good leg kick by Plexico there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Both fighters circling a little - Plexico finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Plexico misses with a head kick.
King misses with a looping right.
Plexico lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
King throws a right and a left that both miss.
As King backs off Plexico throws a huge counter combo but King manages to avoid it all.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

King shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than King was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

King has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Plexico felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

King is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Plexico has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Plexico tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

That has opened up Flex Plexico's cut even more.
King cracks Plexico with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Plexico is rocked!

The cut above Flex Plexico's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
King cracks Plexico with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
