Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Paul Fish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Paul Fish!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Austin has closed the distance and engaged Fish in a clinch.
Our sources have told us that Austin has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Austin throws a punch but it's blocked by Fish.
Fish blocks an uppercut.
Austin is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Fish manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fish tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Austin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Austin is fighting to break Fish's control of his arms but Fish is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Austin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fish is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

It seemed like Fish was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Fish tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Fish uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Austin.
Austin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fish lands a nice shot that snaps Austin's head back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fish shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Austin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fish manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Fish throws the left hand but Austin avoids the punch easily.
Fish misses with a low kick as Austin jumps back.
A jab from Austin finds it's way through Fish's defenses.
Fish throws a shot from downtown. Austin moves away and avoids it.
Austin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fish dips to his left and cracks Austin with an uppercut!

Austin tries to clinch there but Fish circles away.

Despite the aggression on Fish's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Austin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fish swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fish let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Austin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Fish sprawls and moves away.

and Fish counters with a big uppercut that knocks Austin off his feet! Fish dives into side control looking to finish!
Oh Austin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fish working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fish advances to mount.
Austin seems to have got his legs back now.
Austin tries to hold on but Fish postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fish thowing shots but they're missing.
Fish takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fish breaks from Austin's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Austin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fish feints the counter takedown.
Austin moves in looking to clinch but Fish pushes him off.
Austin backing away here, and Fish unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Fish swats away the attempt to clinch by Austin.
Austin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Austin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

and Fish counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Fish pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Austin wants to clinch but Fish slips to the side
and Fish counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Austin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Fish looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jon Paul Fish seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fish misses with a low kick.
Fish looks to score with a jab to the body but Austin is just out of range.
Jack Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Austin checks a leg kick nicely.
Fish throws a body shot but no joy.
Fish connects with an inside leg kick.
Austin wants to clinch but Fish slips to the side
and Fish counters with a nice body shot.
Austin tries to clinch but Fish is having none of it.
Fish keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Fish drops Austin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Austin looks back up at him and smiles so Fish waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


It looks like Jack Austin has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Fish makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Fish lands a big uppercut and Austin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Austin looks OK. Fish waves Austin back to his feet!

Jack Austin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A left and a right from Austin both land. Nice combination.
Fish misses with an uppercut. Austin saw that one coming.
Fish keeps the fight on the outside.
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fish swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fish has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fish is trying to drag Austin to the mat but Austin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Fish is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Austin is defending well.
Austin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Austin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Austin avoids the body shot from Fish.

Austin throws out a loose jab but Fish uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fish steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Austin tries to clinch there but Fish circles away.
Fish swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fish tries to land a leg kick but Austin saw it coming and moves away.
Austin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Austin scores with a decent looking hook.
Austin wants to clinch up but Fish keeps it at a distance.
Austin is looking to clinch but Fish is avoiding it.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Fish.
Sloppy strikes from Austin. Those never looked like landing.

Oooooh!!! Fish has knocked Austin down with a huge combo! Fish steps away and waves a wobbly Austin back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No joy there for Fish, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fish misses with a low kick.
Fish cracks Austin with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Austin falls to his knees and Fish doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Paul Fish!
Jon Paul Fish seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
