Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kevin Krukowski!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Krukowski swivels and escapes.
Krukowski was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Krukowski stuns James with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Krukowski misses the shot to the body.
James lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Krukowski goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
James seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
James misses with the combination.
James looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Krukowski is fending him off so far but James persists. Nope, Krukowski circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Krukowski.
Krukowski ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
James jabs at Krukowski's body.
James on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Krukowski. Krukowski obviously looking to wear him down.
Krukowski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from James.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Krukowski keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
James throws a right and a left that both miss.
And Krukowski tries to counter it with a takedown but James pushes his down on his head and steps out.
David James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Krukowski just misses with a punch to the body.
Krukowski throws a hook to the side of James's head but James sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Krukowski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming James to the mat! James manages to get full guard.
Krukowski wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
James wants to improve his position but instead Krukowski has moved into half guard.
Krukowski is figuring out what he wants to do next.
James throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

James looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
James tries to roll over but Krukowski keeps him under control.

James is trying to control but can't.
James wants to get back to full guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Krukowski's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

James gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Krukowski counter with a right hand.
A swing and a miss from Krukowski.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Krukowski tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Krukowski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Krukowski as he avoids it easily.
James takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
James goes for a double leg but Krukowski avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Krukowski continues to drive forward.
A looping hook to the body misses from Krukowski. James does a little dance to reset his feet.
James went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Horrible takedown attempt by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Krukowski, which made it look bad.

Krukowski gets caught napping as James dives in and scores a takedown. Krukowski manages to retain guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Krukowski dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


James misses with a takedown
and Krukowski counters with a nice uppercut.
James shoots in but Krukowski avoids the takedown attempt easily.
James misses with a jab, cross combination.
It seemed like Krukowski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
James shoots and misses

and Krukowski counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for James!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James manages to get back to half guard.
James is trying to get back to full guard.
Krukowski is trying to control the action in half guard but James is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
James tries to roll over but Krukowski keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James is trying to maintain the position but Krukowski is very close to passing his half guard.
Krukowski throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

James is looking for a sweep. Krukowski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Krukowski slows the pace down in half guard.
Krukowski is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Krukowski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Krukowski is working for a submission of some sort.
James wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Krukowski trying to control the action but James is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James looks for a takedown but Krukowski sprawls well.
Krukowski looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
James looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
James dives in for a single leg takedown but Krukowski sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
James fails with a takedown attempt.
Krukowski throws a shot from downtown. James moves away and avoids it.
James is looking for a counter combo.
James has a takedown stuffed.
Nice shot lands for Krukowski.

James misses with a hook to the body
and Krukowski makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
James goes for a double leg but Krukowski avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Krukowski continues to drive forward.
Krukowski misses with a hook.
James misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Krukowski moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! James goes down! Can Krukowski finish him!?


James is rocked!

Oh James is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Krukowski passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Krukowski cracks James with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Krukowski immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! James is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Krukowski!
