PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ren Hitogoroshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hitogoroshi has chosen Crooked by Bassbin Twins as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ren Hitogoroshi!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Hitogoroshi.
Hitogoroshi thuds a left hand into Bear's body.
Bear tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hitogoroshi defends well and Bear ends up having to push Hitogoroshi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hitogoroshi lands a jab to Bear's midsection.
Bear fails with the takedown.
A lazy left from Hitogoroshi finds it's target.
Hitogoroshi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hitogoroshi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bear doesn't seem bothered though.
Hitogoroshi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bear tries to clinch but Hitogoroshi moves out of range.
Hitogoroshi is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bear rather than just go for the knockout.
Hitogoroshi connects with a nice looking jab.
Bear shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hitogoroshi as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hitogoroshi's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bear under the eye.
Bear takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Bear shoots in but no luck this time.
Hitogoroshi lands a nice shot to the body.

Sloppy strikes from Hitogoroshi. Those never looked like landing.
Hitogoroshi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bear.
Ren Hitogoroshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bear ducks right into an uppercut from Hitogoroshi.
Hitogoroshi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hitogoroshi stuffs the takedown attempt from Bear. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.
Hitogoroshi scores with a jab to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hitogoroshi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bear circles away quickly and effectively.
Hitogoroshi cracks Bear with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Bear shoots for a takedown but Hitogoroshi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hitogoroshi throws a counter combo.
Bear takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bear darts in looking for a takedown but Hitogoroshi gets double underhooks and turns Bear into the cage.
Bear drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Hitogoroshi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Hitogoroshi drops Bear with a beautiful combination! Bear stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hitogoroshi is looking for the KO!


Bear is rocked!


It looks like Bobby Bear has been cut.
Hitogoroshi measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Bear! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Ren Hitogoroshi!
Ren Hitogoroshi decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
