The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simpson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hardman is looking to regain half guard here but Simpson keeps moving and retains side control.
Simpson is trying to move to mount but Hardman reverses beautifully and ends up in Simpson's guard.
Simpson keeping full guard, as Hardman tries to pass.
Hardman keeps trying to improve his position.
Hardman wants to control from the top but Simpson keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Simpson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hardman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Simpson is trying to keep Hardman in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Simpson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Simpson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Simpson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hardman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Simpson's body to avoid the submission. Simpson has instead reached around Hardman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Simpson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
