PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elmer J Fudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zerachiel Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elmer J Fudd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zerachiel Halo!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fudd takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fudd definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fudd misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Halo.
Fudd digs a good body shot into Halo's ribs.
Fudd walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Fudd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Halo sprawls well. Halo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fudd gets slowly back to his feet.
Fudd dives in for a single leg takedown but Halo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Halo throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Halo misses with a leg kick
enabling Fudd to counter with a crisp jab.
Fudd fails with the takedown
and Halo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elmer J Fudd. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fudd checks a leg kick.
Fudd tries for a takedown but Halo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fudd scores with a jab.
Fudd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Halo counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fudd thinking.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fudd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Halo moves away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Halo.
Fudd fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fudd connects with a looping right hand.
Fudd on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Halo is looking to slow Fudd down with leg kicks.
Fudd misses with a jab to the body
and Halo counters with a nice uppercut.
Good leg kick by Halo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Fudd lands with a shot to the body.
Fudd throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fudd is looking to wear down Halo with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Fudd on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fudd fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Halo avoids it really well and circles away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fudd moves into range and clinches up with Halo.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Halo manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Halo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Halo looking to stall.
Fudd is trying to pull guard but Halo has him pressed against the cage.

Fudd manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Halo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Halo stopping the sweep attempt from Fudd.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Halo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Halo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fudd trying to control the position.

Fudd is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Halo is aware though and is defending well.
Fudd is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fudd avoids the body shot from Halo.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Halo connects with a body shot.
Halo throws a leg kick but Fudd moved away.
Halo leaves Fudd with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Halo lands an overhand right.
Fudd misses with a looping left.
Halo throws a leg kick
and Fudd counters with a left to the body.

Oooooh!!! Halo has knocked Fudd down with a huge combo! Halo steps away and waves a wobbly Fudd back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Halo thuds a left hand into Fudd's body.
Halo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fudd was well out of range. Poor timing from Halo.
Zerachiel Halo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fudd takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Halo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fudd doesn't seem bothered though.
Fudd jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Halo slaps away a takedown attempt from Fudd, before circling back to the center of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zerachiel Halo dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Halo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fudd.
Halo throws a hook to the side of Fudd's head but Fudd sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fudd appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Zerachiel Halo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fudd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Halo as he jumps to the side.
Halo appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Fudd connects with the punch.
Halo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fudd can pounce on him.
Fudd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Halo.
Fudd loads up on a big right hand but Halo slips the punch.
Halo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fudd was well out of range. Poor timing from Halo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fudd lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Halo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Fudd's head.
Halo cracks Fudd with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Fudd tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Halo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Fudd is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zerachiel Halo!
After winning the bout, Zerachiel Halo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
