Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Connolly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Haji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Connolly looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ali Haji!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haji misses with a head kick.
Haji ducks under a wild hook from Connolly .
And Haji tries to counter it with a takedown but Connolly pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Haji gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Haji pulls guard successfully.
Haji pulls Connolly in close to prevent any damage.
Haji bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Connolly 's guard.

Haji slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Haji working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Haji slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Haji postures up in Connolly 's guard and throws a big left but Connolly blocks it.

A frustrated look appears on Connolly 's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Haji escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Connolly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Haji is looking for a triangle but Connolly pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Haji thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Connolly wants to control from the top but Haji keeps moving.
We've been hearing that Connolly has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Haji closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Connolly jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Haji walks away with a smile on his face. Connolly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Connolly has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Haji is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Haji is trying to force a seperation but Connolly has the dominant position.
Connolly tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Haji smiles and moves away.

Connolly leaves Haji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Haji goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Jack Connolly has been cut.

Haji manages to pull guard.
Haji pulls Connolly in close to prevent any damage.

Connolly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Haji has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Connolly has managed to get both his arms back between Haji's legs - danger averted.

Haji uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Connolly keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Haji's efforts to push away.

Haji jumps into guard, dragging Connolly to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haji tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Connolly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haji swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Haji holds on and takes a little breather.

As Haji tries to get set, Connolly tries to push him back and clinch up but Haji manages to avoid the attempt.
Jack Connolly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ali Haji.

Haji drags the fight down to the ground.
Connolly wants to control from the top but Haji keeps moving.

Ali Haji comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Haji has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
