A big right from McWhiskey misses.
A nice side step and Pettersson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
McWhiskey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pettersson circles away quickly and effectively.
Patrick McWhiskey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pettersson missing with a left hand there. McWhiskey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McWhiskey tries to bum rush Pettersson with a series of wild strikes but Pettersson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A little jabbing left from Pettersson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
McWhiskey throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pettersson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pettersson scores with a kick to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McWhiskey.
We've been informed that Pettersson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McWhiskey moves in looking to clinch but Pettersson pushes him off.
Pettersson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

McWhiskey throws a nice outside leg kick.
McWhiskey takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Pettersson with a nice cross.
McWhiskey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pettersson was well out of range. Poor timing from McWhiskey.

McWhiskey lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McWhiskey.
McWhiskey takes one on the button.
McWhiskey looks to throw the jab but Pettersson is out of range.
Pettersson throws a low kick but McWhiskey moves out of range easily.
Pettersson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Pettersson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
McWhiskey throws a quick inside leg kick.
McWhiskey misses with a telegraphed body shot
and McWhiskey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McWhiskey with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pettersson to score with a decent uppercut.
McWhiskey is rocked!
Pettersson is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches McWhiskey flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! McWhiskey is out cold! Pettersson holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Christer Pettersson tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Patrick McWhiskey spoke after the fight, saying 'Ouch!'.
