PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Samuraimo Rassi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson has chosen Roll Right as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Samuraimo Rassi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 42 - 28 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Watson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson darts in looking for a takedown but Rassi gets double underhooks and turns Watson into the cage.
It looked like Rassi was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Rassi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rassi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rassi enables Watson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rassi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Watson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Rassi wants to stand and escape but Watson is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Rassi manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

It looks like Brian Watson has been cut.

Rassi lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Watson is trying to drag Rassi to the mat but Rassi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Rassi lands an elbow just above Watson 's eye.
Rassi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Watson.
Rassi using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Watson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Rassi lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Watson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Watson manages to end up in side control.
Rassi tries to bench press Watson off him but Watson keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Watson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rassi as he avoids it easily.

and Rassi counters with a head kick that drops Watson to the mat! Watson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Watson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rassi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rassi takes a swing at Watson's ribcage but misses.
Watson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rassi but Rassi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Samuraimo Rassi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Watson.

Rassi closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rassi is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Watson is defending well for now.

enabling Rassi to counter with a crisp jab.
Watson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Watson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rassi as he jumps to the side.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rassi went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Brian Watson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooooh!!! Rassi has knocked Watson down with a huge combo! Rassi steps away and waves a wobbly Watson back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Samuraimo Rassi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rassi lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Watson crumples to the floor! Rassi milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Samuraimo Rassi!
A less than humble Samuraimo Rassi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
