PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Buggy Clown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Vesala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vesala has chosen Bomfunk MC's - Freestyler as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Timo Vesala acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Clown.

Vesala shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Buggy Clown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clown jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Some bone on bone action there as Vesala checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Vesala throws a jab when Clown was well out of range.
Clown was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Clown misses with an uppercut. Vesala saw that one coming.
That kick from Clown tenderised Vesala's leg. Vesala is trying to keep his angry face on.

Vesala loads up on a big right hand but Clown slips the punch.

Vesala walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Timo Vesala has been cut.
Vesala dives in for a single leg takedown but Clown sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Clown throws a strike but Vesala rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vesala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clown swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Clown looks to land a right hand but Vesala moved out of range.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Vesala throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Clown on the side of the head.

Clown throws a shot from downtown. Vesala moves away and avoids it.

Clown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vesala changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clown fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vesala has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Clown lands with a hook. Vesala tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Vesala's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Clown connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Vesala scrambles back to his feet.

Clown thows a huge punch but Vesala dodges it nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Vesala isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Clown stacks Vesala on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Clown!
Vesala takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Clown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Clown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Vesala shoots in but no luck this time.

Vesala takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Vesala has his foot on Clown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clown works his way back into a safe position though.

Vesala pushes a forearm under Clown's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Clown is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
