The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar misses the shot to the body.
Boyka feinted with a counter takedown.
Edgar punishes Boyka's body with a nice straight punch.
Boyka takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Boyka moves out of range of the strikes.
Boyka takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
No joy there for Edgar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Edgar throws a series of punches but Boyka avoids them all with ease.
Boyka looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Edgar is fending him off so far but Boyka persists. Nope, Edgar circles away and we're back to standing.
Boyka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Edgar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Boyka fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Edgar throws out a counter right but Boyka avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksei Boyka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Edgar throws a hook to the side of Boyka's head but Boyka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Boyka gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Edgar lands with a good body shot.
Boyka misses the jab.
Boyka walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Edgar checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Edgar misses with a hook to the body
and Boyka counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Edgar!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boyka tries for a kimura but Edgar is defending well.
Edgar is looking for a sweep.
Boyka slows the pace down.
Boyka is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Edgar looks calm but he's in trouble here. Boyka gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Edgar is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Boyka lets go of the hold and Edgar can pop his arm back in it's socket.
