Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 wins, 5 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Hilo, Pip Pop!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinto lands a nice shot to the body.
Pop takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Pinto throws a hook but Pop avoids it easily.
A punch lands to the side of Pop 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Pip Pop has been cut.
Pop shoots and misses
and Pop takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pop tries to land a leg kick but Pinto saw it coming and moves away.
A telegraphed right hand from Pinto misses the target.
Pinto waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pop.
Pinto has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Pinto stuffs the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pop moves out of range of the strikes.
Pinto scores with a shot to the body.
Pinto lands an overhand right.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pinto misses with a hook.
Arthur Pinto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pop takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Pop avoids a punch combination nicely.
A slow jab from Pinto misses its intended target.
Despite the aggression on Pop's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Pop uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pinto.
Pinto misses with a double jab.
Pinto throws the left hand but Pop avoids the punch easily.
Pop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pinto as he avoids it easily.
Arthur Pinto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pip Pop.
Pop avoids the body shot from Pinto.
Pop wants to counter with a clinch but Pinto pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Donk. Pinto catches Pop right on the button with a cross.
Pop ducks under a wild hook from Pinto.
Pop tries to clinch up.
Pinto darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pinto lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pop at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pop looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pinto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pop moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pinto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pop wants to counter the offense by Pinto and move into the clinch position.
Pop takes a jab right on the kisser.

That has opened up Pip Pop's cut even more.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Pinto cracks Pop with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Pinto has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Pop to stand back up!

Pop is rocked!
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Pinto moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Pop! Pinto continues to tee off on Pop, landing with a left and a right! Pinto connects with a right hand that leaves Pop sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Pinto!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Arthur Pinto!
Arthur Pinto was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
