The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brock bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Thomas struggling a bit here.
Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thomas tries to buck Brock off but Brock is having none of it.
Thomas is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Black Hand Vegas that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Brock has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Brock thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Brock avoids the attempt from Thomas to control.

Brock is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Thomas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Brock fails to take his opponent's back.
Poor strikes thrown by Brock there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Thomas wants to control but Brock is having none of it.

Brock is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Thomas is surviving well by controlling Brock's body position as best he can.

Brock is working for a guillotine from mount but Thomas frees his head quite easily.
Brock prevents Thomas from getting the reversal.
Thomas is working hard here to advance position.
Thomas is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brock swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Thomas is now in Brock's guard. A big mistake from Brock there, giving up the dominant position!

Thomas scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Brock working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brock is looking to cinch up a triangle. Thomas throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Brock's body to avoid the submission. Brock has instead reached around Thomas's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Brock arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Edward Charles Brock opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
