Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Yuber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Potz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Yuber!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Potz !
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Potz throws a right hand that Yuber ducks under and follows up with a left that Yuber also avoids with ease.
Yuber was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Potz rushes Yuber and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Yuber looking for a takedown.
Potz creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Potz lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Potz is fighting off a takedown attempt but Yuber is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Potz to the mat. Potz regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Potz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Yuber trying to control the position from guard on top but Potz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yuber is fighting to break Potz 's control of his arms but Potz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Yuber postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Potz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yuber, into his guard.

Potz trying to control but Yuber is working from the bottom.
Yuber has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Potz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Potz stopping the sweep attempt from Yuber.

Yuber escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Potz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Yuber is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Potz preventing the sweep.

Yuber has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Potz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Yuber is looking for a triangle but Potz pushes his legs off easily.
Yuber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yuber controls Potz momentarily but Potz frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Potz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yuber is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Potz is aware though and is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yuber is really struggling to control Potz but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ivan Yuber will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A jab from Potz misses.

Potz takes the fight into the clinch.
Potz is pressed up against the cage. Yuber has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Potz down to the mat. Potz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Yuber tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Potz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Potz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Craig Potz has been cut.

Yuber drops Potz with a beautiful combination! Potz stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Yuber is looking for the KO!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
No luck for Yuber with that takedown attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Potz misses.

Yuber sends Potz crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Yuber is motioning to the referee to let Potz up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


That has opened up Craig Potz 's cut even more.
Yuber wants to clinch up but Potz keeps it at a distance.
Yuber is looking to clinch but Potz is avoiding it.
Potz throws a hook to the side of Yuber's head but Yuber sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Potz lands with a shot to the body.
Yuber tries to close the distance and clinch up but Potz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Yuber uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Potz .
Potz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Potz takes a swing at Yuber's ribcage but misses.
Ivan Yuber is winning the standup battle so far.
Yuber fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Potz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yuber circles away quickly and effectively.
A combination from Potz does no damage.
Potz keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Potz now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Yuber lands a big right hand that sends Potz crashing to the mat! Yuber stays standing though and waves Potz back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A slow jab from Potz misses its intended target.
Yuber has his takedown stuffed
and Potz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Yuber. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed right hand from Potz misses the target.

Yuber closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Potz avoiding damage as Yuber throws knees to the body.

Yuber manages to break the clinch.
Potz lands a right hook to the body.
Potz throws a hook but Yuber avoids it easily.

Potz gets tackled into the cage by Yuber. Yuber maintains the clinch.
Potz prevents a takedown attempt there.

Yuber prevents a body shot from Potz .
Potz looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Potz tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Yuber's elbow.
A head punch on the inside from Potz fails to land.

Yuber gets control of Potz 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Yuber will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

We've been hearing good reports from Yuber's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Yuber is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Potz can do to turn this around?

Craig Potz 's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Craig Potz 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ivan Yuber!

During a confident post fight interview, Ivan Yuber thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
