Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mario Jose Binay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tero Karhula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karhula has chosen Will Smith - Men In Black as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mario Jose Binay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tero Karhula!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karhula misses with a right hand
and Binay makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Karhula throws the left hand but Binay avoids the punch easily.
Binay was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Binay on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice defenses there by Binay.
Binay keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
It looked like Binay was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Karhula.
Karhula getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Karhula connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Binay takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Karhula bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Karhula thuds his right hand into Binay's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

As Karhula tries to get set, Binay tries to push him back and clinch up but Karhula manages to avoid the attempt.

Karhula has Binay pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Karhula pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Binay tumbling to the mat - Karhula dives into Binay's guard.

Binay wants to stand up but Karhula is controlling him.
Binay definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Karhula jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Binay walks away with a smile on his face. Karhula gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Binay drops back, looking for a kneebar! Karhula looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Karhula looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Karhula!

Binay is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Karhula wants to take a breather but Binay manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Karhula.

Karhula avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Karhula is pushing down on Binay's leg trying to pass to half guard. Binay is fighting to maintain full guard but Karhula has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karhula is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Binay is looking to control Karhula's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Binay avoid being mounted?

Karhula moves nicely into side control.
Binay is trying to improve his position.
Karhula misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Karhula creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Karhula throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Binay works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Karhula postures up and lands a big shot to Binay's brow.
Binay wants to get back to his feet but Karhula is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Binay is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tero Karhula comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Karhula has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
