PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remy LeBeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Remy LeBeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ian Turner!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Turner clobbers LeBeau with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Remy LeBeau has been cut.
Turner misses with a straight right.
Turner jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Turner lands with an uppercut that bounces LeBeau off the cage and back into range.
LeBeau moves forwards but Turner connects with a nice, crisp jab.
LeBeau moves out of range of the body kick from Turner.
LeBeau feinted with a counter takedown.
LeBeau fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Turner throws a low kick but it's checked well by LeBeau.
Turner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but LeBeau was well out of range. Poor timing from Turner.
LeBeau is looking for a counter combo.
Turner misses with a hook
and LeBeau counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LeBeau goes for a double leg but Turner avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Turner continues to drive forward.
LeBeau misses with an uppercut. Turner saw that one coming.
Ian Turner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Turner lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Turner scores with a jab to the head.


Remy LeBeau's cut is getting worse.
LeBeau moves out of range of the body kick.
Turner moves in looking to clinch but LeBeau pushes him off.
LeBeau is looking for a counter combo.
Turner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ian Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No luck for LeBeau with that takedown attempt.
LeBeau looks to throw the jab but Turner is out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
LeBeau chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Turner can pounce on him.

LeBeau tries to keep at a distance but Turner has taken the fight into the clinch.
LeBeau has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Turner is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Remy LeBeau. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Remy LeBeau's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A frustrated look appears on LeBeau's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A body shot lands from Turner.
LeBeau is trying to break the clinch but Turner is controlling him.
Turner blocks a body shot from LeBeau.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Turner takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
LeBeau stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
LeBeau tries to break the clinch but Turner is controlling the position.
Turner lands an elbow inside that LeBeau shrugs off.
LeBeau has Turner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Turner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
LeBeau goes for a takedown attempt but Turner pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Turner is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


Jeez, Remy LeBeau's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Turner attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
LeBeau went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Turner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but LeBeau manages to avoid it.
Turner throws a leg kick
and LeBeau counters with a one-two to the body.
LeBeau swats away the attempt to clinch by Turner.
LeBeau throws a big counter combination but Turner scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
LeBeau tries to bum rush Turner with a series of wild strikes but Turner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Turner makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
LeBeau throws a right and a left that both miss.
And Turner tries to counter it with a takedown but LeBeau pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Turner looks to score with a jab to the body but LeBeau is just out of range.
Turner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Turner scores with a nice head shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Turner, right into the meat.
Turner lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Remy LeBeau's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ian Turner!
