Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matthieu Lizotte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stanley Parker!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lizotte feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Parkers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Lizotte scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lizotte throws a nice looking combination but Parker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Parker closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Parker slows the pace down.
Parker tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lizotte knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parker on the ground.
Lizotte is trying to work for a sweep but Parker has mounted him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Lizotte is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Stanley Parker!
Stanley Parker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
