Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hobert Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Egor Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Egor Boss will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hobert Mays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Egor Boss!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boss looks to clinch

so Mays counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Boss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mays can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mays trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Mays trying to control but Boss is working from the bottom.
Mays content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mays stands and throws Boss's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Boss has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mays is working away from the top position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mays is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mays seems keen to control Boss's posture.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boss doesn't manage to clinch there - Mays circles away.
Boss shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mays sprawls well. Mays wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boss gets slowly back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Boss throws a series of punches but Mays avoids them all with ease.
Boss tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mays paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Boss shoots in looking for a takedown. Mays tries to sprawl out of it but Boss keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mays manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As Boss looks to move away, Mays throws a big counter combo bu Boss just gets out of the way.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mays, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
