Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Everette Dillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garrett Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garrett Hawke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Everette Dillard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Garrett Hawke!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawke throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dillard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hawke is in Dillard's guard.
Dillard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dillard trying to keep a closed guard but Hawke is proving a slippery customer.

Hawke postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Hawke has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hawke must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dillard is on top in guard.

Dillard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hawke is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dillard, into his guard.


Hawke got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dillard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hawke has managed to get both his arms back between Dillard's legs - danger averted.
Hawke stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dillard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

As Dillard backs off Hawke throws a huge counter combo but Dillard manages to avoid it all.

Dillard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hawke on his heels. He'll look to pass Hawke's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hawke changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dillard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hawke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dillard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hawke dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dillard. That did some damage!

Hawke is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dillard can't fight it off and eventually Hawke manages to take the fight to the floor. Dillard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Well Hawke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
