The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manchu throws a body kick that misses

and Brooks counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Manchu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Brooks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Manchu can do anything to dispel that myth.

Manchu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Manchu lands a nice short elbow.
Manchu wants to take a breather but Brooks is having none of it.
