PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Geoffrey Parrish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamilton Clingroth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamilton Clingroth told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clingroth shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Parrish has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Clingroth is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Clingroth turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Clingroth tries to score with some ground and pound. Parrish controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Clingroth lands some shots froms side control.

Parrish sneaks out the side door and pushes Clingroth away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Parrish pushes Clingroth up against the cage in a clinch.

Parrish breaks from the clinch.

Clingroth looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Parrish pushes Clingroth off looking to stand but Clingroth dives back in and keeps control.
Clingroth not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Parrish is trying to stand.
Parrish really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Clingroth is keen to just control but Parrish is a slippery customer.
Parrish is looking to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Clingroth throws a nice looking combination but Parrish bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Parrish looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Clingroth fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Parrish, pushing him back against the cage.

Clingroth pulls guard.

Parrish stands and steps away. Clingroth gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Parrish has Clingroth up against the cage in a clinch.

Clingroth lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Clingroth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parrish. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Parrish wants to get back to his feet.

Parrish has one foot on Clingroth's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Parrish closes the distance and pushes Clingroth back into the cage.

Clingroth has picked Parrish up - he's going for a ride! Clingroth dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Parrish tries to kick Clingroth off but Clingroth keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Parrish manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Clingroth keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Parrish gets through Clingroth's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Clingroth gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Parrish is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Clingroth's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Clingroth's back!
Clingroth is in bad spot here.
Parrish punishes Clingroth with strikes from the back mount.
Clingroth rolls, trying to escape but Parrish keeps control of the position.
Parrish is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Clingroth. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Clingroth wants to get back to his feet. He's half way up but Parrish drags him back down with a jolt, managing to get his forearm deep under Clingroth 's chin! Clingroth is in real trouble! His face is turning bright red and he's forced to tap! This one is all over!
