PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Israel Kamakawiwo Ole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borin Chim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kamakawiwo Ole comes into the arena with Somewhere over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Israel Kamakawiwo Ole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Borin Chim!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chim lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Israel Kamakawiwo Ole has been cut.

Kamakawiwo Ole shoots for a double leg takedown but Chim sprawls well. He's pushed Kamakawiwo Ole's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chim doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kamakawiwo Ole bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chim's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Israel Kamakawiwo Ole will probably get the nod.

Chim fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kamakawiwo Ole has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Both fighters circling a little - Chim finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Kamakawiwo Ole tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kamakawiwo Ole somewhat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chim feints and then cracks Kamakawiwo Ole's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kamakawiwo Ole down.

Chim's coach down at Hell's Balls NY Hellcademy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chim's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chim lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kamakawiwo Ole has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kamakawiwo Ole and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Well Chim has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
