Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Humberto Boyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Jazz!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jazz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jazz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boyle avoids it really well and circles away.
Boyle appears to be looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Boyle. No joy for Jazz on that attempt.
Humberto Boyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Jazz.
Jazz dives in and grabs Boyle's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boyle pushes down on Jazz's head and hops out.
A counter left hand to the body from Boyle misses its target.
Boyle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jazz.
Boyle wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Boyle throws a head kick that misses.
Jazz avoids the head kick by Boyle.

Jazz feints and as Boyle raises his hands in defense, Jazz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jazz tries to stand but Boyle is controlling from the bottom.
Boyle has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Jazz is looking to pass into half guard but Boyle pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Boyle is in guard.

Boyle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jazz's guard.
Boyle's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Boyle trying to control the position from guard on top but Jazz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jazz wants to sweep here but Boyle controlling him for the moment.
Boyle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jazz darts in looking for a takedown but Boyle gets double underhooks and turns Jazz into the cage.
Boyle throws a big counter combination but Jazz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Jazz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boyle sprawls well. Boyle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jazz gets slowly back to his feet.
Jazz looks winded!
Boyle lands a head kick. Jazz smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jazz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jazz shoots in but Boyle avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jazz blocks a head kick by Boyle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Boyle stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boyle wants it to stay on the feet.
Boyle is looking to counter with head kicks.

Boyle decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Boyle missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Boyle wants to take a breather but Jazz is having none of it.
Well, if Boyle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jazz drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Boyle has control of Jazz's left arm, preventing Jazz from doing any damage.

Boyle has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jazz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Boyle sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jazz somewhat.

Jazz shoots in looking for a takedown. Boyle tries to sprawl out of it but Jazz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boyle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Humberto Boyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Jazz.
Jazz is breathing heavily.
Boyle swings for the body but Jazz moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jazz.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jazz or perhaps it was just good defense by Boyle, which made it look bad.
Boyle misses with a head kick.

Boyle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jazz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Jazz wants to get back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boyle in particular looking to stall.
Boyle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Jazz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boyle swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jazz is looking to clinch but Boyle is avoiding it.
Sloppy strikes from Boyle. Those never looked like landing.
Boyle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jazz circles away quickly and effectively.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jazz enables Boyle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jazz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Humberto Boyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jazz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jazz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Boyle is controlling him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Boyle stands and steps away. Jazz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jazz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Boyle to the ground. Jazz is now in Boyle's guard.
Jazz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Boyle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jazz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Boyle is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jazz slips nicely into half guard.
Jazz moves nicely into side control.

You can see the frustration on Boyle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Boyle regains half guard there - taking advantage of Jazz's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Boyle is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jazz scores with a couple of nice shots.
Jazz tries to stand and escape but Boyle is controlling the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jazz seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jazz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Boyle to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jimmy Jazz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Humberto Boyle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Humberto Boyle.
Well Boyle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
