And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Renzo Alves !
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Good work by Alves as he checks the leg kick.
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alves moves away.
Alves takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily.
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Alves .
Johnson misses with a double jab.
Johnson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Alves on the side of the head.
Johnson lands a front kick.

Alves closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johnson to the mat! Johnson manages to get full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alves works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Alves not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Alves is working for a submission of some sort.
Alves wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alves looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Alves works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Alves is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Johnson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Johnson tries to lock up and control but Alves gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Johnson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Alves .
Alves looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Alves postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Johnson looks a forlorn figure.


Johnson is rocked!
Alves scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Johnson?
Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oooh a big shot lands for Alves ! Johnson is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!
