The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trap uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Newman.
Trap looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Trap is looking to clinch but Newman is avoiding it.
Trap tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Newman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Trap!
Newman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Trap is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Newman tries for a kimura but Trap is defending well.
Newman is working to tighten his grip on Trap's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Trap has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Newman is really squeezing tight and eventually Trap passes out! Newman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
