The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ioannou Ii was well out of range. Poor timing from Jane.
Jane misses with a double jab.
Jane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ioannou Ii moves away.

Ioannou Ii avoids a wild elbow strike from Jane.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jane is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ioannou Ii defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ioannou Ii manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jane gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jane looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Despite the aggression on Ioannou Ii's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Ioannou Ii connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ioannou Ii is fending him off so far but Jane persists. Nope, Ioannou Ii circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round but I would say that Tom Jane will probably get the nod.

Jane takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Ioannou Ii and Jane goes tumbling to the canvas! Ioannou Ii follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.

Jane is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ioannou Ii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jane keeps working.
Oh Jane is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ioannou Ii in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jane shoots for a takedown but Ioannou Ii saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jane's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ioannou Ii connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jane scrambles back to his feet.
