Coryatt kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Welcome 2 Houston. Michal Materla has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Coryatt defends well and Materla ends up having to push Coryatt into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Coryatt.
Materla tries to buck Coryatt off but Coryatt is having none of it.
Materla dodges the ground and pound from Coryatt.
Coryatt wants to take a breather but Materla manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Coryatt.
Coryatt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Coryatt throws an elbow that misses. Materla uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Coryatt's guard. Nice move by Materla!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coryatt is trying to stand back up but Materla is controlling him

Materla is looking to stall here but Coryatt recovers full guard.

Coryatt has his feet on Materla's thighs here. He's pushed Materla off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Materla screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Kevin Coryatt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
