Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danilo Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Knight Elbow!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elbow avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reed tries to bum rush Elbow with a series of wild strikes but Elbow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Elbow misses with a low kick.

Elbow shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Elbow seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reed does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elbow seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Reed has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Elbow is working away from the top position though.

Elbow is trying to control. Reed wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Elbow is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Reed defends it well.
Reed wants to get back to full guard but Elbow has passed into side control.
Elbow wants to stand but Reed has his arm trapped.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Reed is being controlled here.
Reed tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Reed is trying to work for a sweep but Elbow has mounted him!
Elbow is looking to stand but Reed has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reed tries to reverse the position but Elbow maintains control.

It looks like Danilo Reed has been cut.

Elbow tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Elbow is trying to take his opponent's back.
Elbow wants to control the pace but Reed is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Reed tries to reverse the position but Elbow maintains control.
Elbow thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Poor strikes thrown by Elbow there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Elbow wants to control the pace but Reed is squirming around nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Reed is in all sorts of trouble here.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Elbow throws a sloppy head kick and Reed moves out of range easily.
Reed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Elbow as he avoids it easily.
A nice side step and Elbow releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

The fighters are battling for position here. Reed manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Elbow postures up in Reed's guard and throws a big left but Reed blocks it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Elbow throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Reed works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Elbow throws a combination that misses

and Reed decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Elbow's guard.
Reed postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Reed is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Elbow trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Reed won't allow Elbow to sweep him here.

Elbow is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Reed has his hands clasped together but Elbow extends and breaks Reed's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Elbow.
