Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Larry Regan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaice Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry Regan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Regan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaice Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn lands a head shot.
Gunn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gunn takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Kaice Gunn has been cut.
Regan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Regan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Regan misses the jab.
Larry Regan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunn goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Gunn lands a front kick.
Gunn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Regan misses with an uppercut.
Regan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gunn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gunn feints a counter leg kick.

Gunn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Regan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gunn lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Regan is trying to control the position but Gunn postures up.

Gunn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Regan looking for a sweep. Not yet Regan, not yet.
Regan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gunn trying to control the position from guard on top but Regan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gunn looking to sit in guard and control but Regan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gunn keeping moving, preventing Regan from controlling successfully.

Gunn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gunn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Regan scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Gunn managing to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Regan trying to control but Gunn is working from the bottom.

Gunn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Regan defends well.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Regan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gunn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gunn wants to get back to his feet but Regan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gunn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Regan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gunn's head.

Gunn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Regan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Regan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Regan wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving.

Gunn has his foot on Regan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Regan works his way back into a safe position though.
Regan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Gunn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gunn looking for a sweep. Not yet Gunn, not yet.

Gunn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Regan is in close to Gunn's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gunn looking to hit a scissor sweep but Regan is one step ahead there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Regan slips nicely into half guard.
Gunn is not content to let Regan control the position.
Regan is really struggling to control Gunn but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Gunn wants to get back to full guard.
Regan missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Gunn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Regan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gunn is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Regan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Regan drops an elbow to the side of Gunn's head.
Gunn is looking to improve his position.

A close round but Kaice Gunn will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Regan tries to bum rush Gunn with a series of wild strikes but Gunn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gunn goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Gunn throws a head kick but Regan moves out of range.
Regan misses with a hook.
Regan drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gunn avoids the body shot from Regan.
Regan changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A big left from Regan misses.
A jab from Gunn finds it's way through Regan's defenses.
Regan on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Gunn fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Regan has a takedown stuffed.
Regan walks into a stiff left hand from Gunn.

Regan cracks the inside of Gunn's front leg.
Gunn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Regan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gunn stuns Regan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gunn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gunn lunges at Regan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Regan's hand.
Regan throws a right and a left that Gunn avoids nicely.
Regan fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Regan looks to land a combination but Gunn avoids it well.
Gunn throws a body punch but Regan moves out of range.
Regan avoids the head kick by Gunn.
Regan throws a right and a left that Gunn avoids nicely.
Gunn doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Regan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Regan misses with a series of wild punches.
Gunn tries a quick counter leg kick but Regan is wise to it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Regan throws a jab when Gunn was well out of range.
Gunn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunn misses with a hook.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gunn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Larry Regan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gunn throws a body shot but no joy.
Regan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Regan.
Gunn lands a glancing blow to the side of Regan's head.

Gunn moves into range and clinches up with Regan.

Gunn fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Regan checks it well.
Regan misses with a looping right.
Gunn looks like he wants to counter punch here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Regan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Gunn avoids it.
Gunn pushes Regan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Gunn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gunn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Regan.
Regan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Gunn with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Regan throws a right hand that Gunn ducks under and follows up with a left that Gunn also avoids with ease.

Gunn has taken the fight to the clinch.

Gunn works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Regan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gunn manages to get himself to full guard.

Gunn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Regan wants to control but Gunn is keeping busy.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Gunn drops an elbow to the side of Regan's head.
Gunn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Gunn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Regan is refusing to be controlled, as Gunn sits in half guard.
Regan trying to control but Gunn postures up.
Regan is looking for a sweep. Gunn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gunn wants to stand up but Regan is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaice Gunn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Regan darts in looking for a takedown but Gunn gets double underhooks and turns Regan into the cage.
Gunn avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Regan misses the jab.
Regan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Regan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunn jabs Regan right on the nose. Regan blinks but takes it well.
Regan misses the shot to the body.
Gunn lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Kaice Gunn seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gunn tries to clinch up but Regan circles away and keeps his distance.
Regan connects with a right hand. Gunn shakes it off.
Gunn moves out of range as Regan strikes.
Regan with a nice cross.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Regan lands an overhand right.

Regan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gunn scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Regan is rocked!
Gunn cracks Regan with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Regan tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Gunn pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Regan is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kaice Gunn!
After the fight, Kaice Gunn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
