The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turshatov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sparks circles away.
Sparks lands a slapping body shot.
Turshatov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Alexey Turshatov has been cut.
Turshatov looks to land a right hand but Sparks moved out of range.
Alexey Turshatov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sparks throws a quick inside leg kick.
Turshatov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sparks defends it nicely.

Sparks lands a big uppercut and Turshatov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Turshatov looks OK. Sparks waves Turshatov back to his feet!

Turshatov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Oh Turshatov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Turshatov is breathing heavily.
Sparks sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Turshatov's defenses. It connects perfectly with Turshatov's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
