PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Escobarre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeda Shingen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobarre comes into the arena with Xzibit- Alcoholic blaring out of the sound system. Pablo Escobarre could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Takeda Shingen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pablo Escobarre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeda Shingen!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shingen tries to clinch up but Escobarre circles away and keeps his distance.
Escobarre bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shingen's head.
Escobarre has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Escobarre keeps the fight on the outside.
Shingen moves in looking to clinch but Escobarre pushes him off.
Shingen avoids the body shot from Escobarre.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shingen! But no joy.
Nice sprawl there from Escobarre as Shingen shoots in.
Shingen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shingen wants it to stay on the feet.
Shingen darts in trying to clinch

and Escobarre counters with a shoot takedown. Shingen fights it but they end up in guard.
Escobarre not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Shingen keeping full guard, as Escobarre tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobarre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shingen dives on top into guard.

Escobarre lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Shingen is pulling down on Escobarre's head to control his posture.
Shingen keeping moving, preventing Escobarre from controlling successfully.

Escobarre drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shingen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Escobarre has Shingen in his guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Escobarre is trying to control the position but Shingen postures up.
Shingen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Escobarre is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Shingen looking to sit in guard and control but Escobarre gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Shingen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Escobarre pushes down on Shingen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Escobarre trying to mount his opponent but Shingen defends it.
Shingen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Escobarre is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Shingen makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Escobarre keeps the fight on the outside.
Escobarre throws a body punch but Shingen moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Shingen on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Nice jab there from Escobarre.
Shingen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Escobarre misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Escobarre shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shingen pinned against the cage. Shingen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Shingen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Escobarre to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Escobarre tests Shingen's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Shingen tries to close the distance and clinch but Escobarre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Escobarre shoots in but Shingen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As Escobarre backs off Shingen throws a huge counter combo but Escobarre manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Escobarre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shingen shoots in but no luck this time.
Shingen is looking to clinch but Escobarre is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pablo Escobarre dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Shingen clinches up against the cage.
Escobarre lands with a left to the head.
Escobarre scores with a nice hook to the head.


Shingen is rocked!

Shingen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shingen is still on wobbly legs! Can Escobarre finish him?
Escobarre misses with a wild body shot.
Escobarre lands a slapping body shot.
Escobarre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Escobarre wants it to stay on the feet.
Shingen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Escobarre's waist but Escobarre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shingen off to one side.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Escobarre! Shingen is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pablo Escobarre!
