Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daglas Faby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, King Kong!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Faby looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've been hearing that Faby has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Faby throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Faby is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Faby decides to stand and escape the position.
Kong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Faby.

Faby instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Faby is trying to pull guard but Kong turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Faby tries for a takedown. No joy.
Kong is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Faby lands a nice knee to the body.
Faby has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kong avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daglas Faby. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Faby drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Faby is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Faby looking to control.
Faby has his hands on Kong's head, controlling the position.
Faby thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Faby is pulling down on Kong's head to control his posture.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Kong preventing the sweep.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kong moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kong misses with a body shot.
Kong ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kong keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
OH! Faby has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Kong smells blood and charges in for the finish! Kong unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Faby sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). King Kong!
King Kong was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
