The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Szczerbiec tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson thuds a left hand into Szczerbiec's body.
Szczerbiec displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
Szczerbiec looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Shaun Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Szczerbiec defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Szczerbiec into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Johnson looks up at the clock. Bad move! Szczerbiec lands a right hand from hell, dropping Johnson. Szczerbiec pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

A relieved looking Patryk Szczerbiec thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
