Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Davenport (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ra comes to the cage accompanied by Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says. Lucas Davenport has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Amun Ra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Davenport!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ra buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Davenport has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Davenport drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Davenport is looking to advance position but Ra has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Ra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Davenport tries to hold on but Ra postures up.
Davenport sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ra is looking to take a break and control but Davenport is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Davenport decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ra's guard.

Davenport drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ra looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ra looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ra!

Davenport is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ra off and has taken his back!

Davenport slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Davenport is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Ra knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Ra for a finish.
Well, with Davenport on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Ra is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Ra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A low kick from Ra misses

and Davenport counters with a takedown into side control.

Davenport swings around for an armbar but Ra sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Davenport's guard.

Davenport has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davenport escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ra gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Davenport is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Davenport is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Davenport seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Davenport has his foot on Ra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ra works his way back into a safe position though.

Davenport is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ra is aware though and is defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Ra thows a body kick. Davenport tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Davenport looks for a takedown but Ra sprawls well.
Ra throws a low kick but Davenport avoids it.
Ra throws a jab but it's blocked by Davenport.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Ra.
Ra throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Davenport shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Davenport is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Davenport has control of Ra's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ra regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Davenport lands a heavy elbow.
Davenport has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lucas Davenport showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Ra will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Davenport wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ra keeps working.

Davenport has hold of Ra's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ra seems comfortable defending it but Davenport has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ra is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ra is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Davenport couldn't care less - he's delighted!
