Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Kilmster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kilmster's entrance music is Maylene & The Sons of Disaster - Darkest of Kin. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Kilmster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Kilmster.

Kilmster gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Diaz passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kilmster tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Diaz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Diaz trying to control the action but Kilmster is working from the bottom.

Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kilmster regains half guard there - taking advantage of Diaz's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Diaz wants to pass the guard but Kilmster is defending well.
Diaz prevents Kilmster from improving his position.

Diaz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kilmster is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Diaz is trying to control the action in half guard but Kilmster is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Diaz looking for a submission but Kilmster manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Diaz passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kilmster tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position.

Diaz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Kilmster can't escape the position.

Kilmster is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Bad Pluto! (17 Elite Coach) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Kilmster throws a body shot but no joy.
Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Diaz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Diaz looks to land a combination but Kilmster avoids it well.
A counter left hand to the body from Kilmster misses its target.

Kilmster drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Kilmster shows good takedown defense.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And Diaz tries to counter it with a takedown but Kilmster pushes his down on his head and steps out.

A right-left combo lands from Kilmster.
A nice inside leg kick there by Diaz. That's going to slow Kilmster down.

Diaz with the counter takedown but Kilmster avoids it easily.

The fighters circling - Kilmster throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Diaz tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Diaz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kilmster manages to avoid it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Diaz.

Diaz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kilmster did well to prevent Diaz getting side control.

Diaz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Matt Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Kilmster counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kilmster fails to land with a series of punches.
Diaz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Diaz lands with a straight right. Kilmster didn't see that one coming.
Some bone on bone action there as Kilmster checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Diaz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kilmster uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Diaz.
Nice shot lands for Diaz.
Diaz goes for a double leg but Kilmster avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kilmster continues to drive forward.

No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kilmster lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Diaz circles away quickly and effectively.

Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kilmster is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Kilmster circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz throws an overhand right that lands on Kilmster's shoulder, as Kilmster tries to avoid the shot.
Diaz cracks a nice hook into Kilmster's ribs.
Matt Diaz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Diaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Diaz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Kilmster slips under a jab from Diaz.
Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kilmster sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat.

I would just about give that final round to Matt Diaz.
Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Matt Diaz decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
