Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Elves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Warhead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Elves might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Korn - Coming Undone. The crowd seem to be enjoying Warhead's choice of entrance music: Metal Head. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Elves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warhead throws a series of strikes that have Elves backpedaling.
Warhead fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Elves avoids it really well and circles away.
Elves shoots in looking for a takedown but Warhead manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Elves's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Warhead drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Warhead wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Elves, who protects the arm well.
Elves is not content to let Warhead control the position.

Warhead goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Elves rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Warhead's guard! Nice work there by Elves!
Warhead throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Elves passes Warhead's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Warhead tries to get to full guard but Elves has control of the leg.
Warhead is staying active underneath Elves, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Warhead is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Elves is aware though and is defending well.

Elves is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Warhead defends it well.
Elves is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Warhead sees it coming and defends easily.

Elves seems to be looking for submissions.
Warhead wants to control but Elves is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Warhead has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Warhead rushes Elves and presses him up against the cage.
Elves is trying to push Warhead away but Warhead has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Elves tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Warhead makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Warhead works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Warhead shoots in for a double leg but Elves sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
As Warhead looks to move away, Elves throws a big counter combo bu Warhead just gets out of the way.
Elves gets caught flat footed, as Warhead shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Warhead trying to control the position from guard on top but Elves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Elves avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Warhead lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Warhead's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warhead throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Warhead wants to control from the top but Elves keeps moving.

Elves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Warhead shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Elves as he avoids it easily.
Warhead shoots for a takedown but Elves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ryan Elves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Warhead.
Warhead misses with the combination.
Warhead has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Elves fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Elves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Elves is looking to work some ground and pound but Warhead has wrist control.
Elves won't allow Warhead to get back to his feet.
Elves cracks Warhead with a solid left hand.
Warhead looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elves trying to control but Warhead is working from the bottom.
Warhead is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Elves is aware though and is defending well.
Warhead looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Elves stands up over Warhead, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Elves pushes down on Warhead's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Warhead is trying desperately to improve position.

Elves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Warhead tries to close the distance and clinch but Elves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Warhead throws a series of punches but Elves moves out of range.
Elves appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Warhead misses with a takedown attempt - Elves sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Warhead tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Elves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Elves darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Warhead wants to get back to full guard.

Warhead takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Elves moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Elves is on top in guard.

Warhead keeping moving, preventing Elves from controlling successfully.
Warhead manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Elves manages to get himself to full guard.

Warhead wants to control from the top but Elves keeps moving.
Elves is wriggling around but Warhead manages to pass to half guard.
Warhead is looking to stall in half guard but Elves is in no mood to hang around. He's locked up a Kimura from the bottom and has used it to sweep! He's held on to the kimura and is looking to finish here... will he get it... YES! Warhead taps out and the crowd goes crazy! Great finish!

Ryan Elves was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
