Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Georgio Socrates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Renner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Socrates comes into the arena with Tool - Schism blaring out of the sound system. Renner is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by God Particle. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jeremy Renner was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Socrates shoots in but no luck this time.
As Socrates backs off Renner throws a huge counter combo but Socrates manages to avoid it all.
Socrates dives in and grabs Renner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Renner pushes down on Socrates's head and hops out.
Renner catches Socrates with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Georgio Socrates. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Socrates tries to clinch there but Renner circles away.
Renner doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Renner drops Socrates with a left and a right! Oh, Socrates is hurt - Renner dives into side control looking to finish!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Renner lands an elbow.
Socrates tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Renner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Socrates is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
You can see the frustration on Socrates's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Renner working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
A big shot lands for Renner! That's hurt Socrates! Will he recover? Renner fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Our winner, Jeremy Renner, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
