Punch has chosen Marky Mark and the Funky Punch - No Mercy as his entrance music. Yrjoe Velmu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Punch's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Velmu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Punch scrambles back to his feet.
A punch combination from Velmu misses.
Punch with the counter takedown but Velmu avoids it easily.
Punch with a nice cross.

It looks like Yrjoe Velmu has been cut.
Punch scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Velmu doesn't seem bothered though.
Punch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Velmu.
Punch takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Velmu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Punch moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A swing and a miss from Punch.
Punch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Velmu fires out a quick counter leg kick but Punch just manages to avoid it.
Crunch! Punch slams his shin into Velmu's torso.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Punch is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Velmu moves out of range as Punch throws a body kick.
Punch cracks the inside of Velmu's front leg.
Velmu wants to clinch up but Punch keeps it at a distance.
Punch fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Velmu manages to avoid it.
Velmu misses with a wild body shot.

Nice shot lands for Punch.
Punch throws a jab when Velmu was well out of range.
Punch avoids a punch combination nicely.
Punch keeps the fight on the outside.
Punch misses with a low kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Punch.
Velmu has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Jungle Elite MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Velmu drops his hands momentarily and Punch takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Yrjoe Velmu's cut is getting worse.
Velmu wants to clinch up but Punch keeps it at a distance.
Punch walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Velmu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Punch paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Velmu throws a hook but Punch avoids it easily.
Punch listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Punch throws a series of strikes that have Velmu backpedaling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velmu fakes the leg kick and cracks Punch in the body.
Velmu throws a head kick that misses.

Punch sends Velmu crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Punch is motioning to the referee to let Velmu up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Yrjoe Velmu's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Punch on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Punch lets loose with a powerful body kick. Velmu will feel that in the morning.
That kick from Punch tenderised Velmu's leg. Velmu is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nice uppercut lands for Punch. That snapped Velmu's head back.
Punch throws a head kick but Velmu moves out of range.
Velmu tries to counter by clinching up but Punch breaks away and moves out of range.
Velmu checks a leg kick.
Velmu misses with a body shot.
Punch thuds his shin into the meat of Velmu's side.
Velmu is breathing heavily.

Punch cracks Velmu with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Velmu looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Punch finish him?

Velmu is rocked!

Jeez, Yrjoe Velmu's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Yrjoe Velmu's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Funky Punch!
Funky Punch bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
