Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffery Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeffery Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor clinches up against the cage.
Taylor wants to get back to striking at distance but Stevenson won't allow it.
Taylor wants to take the fight to the mat but Stevenson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Taylor is working for takedown but Stevenson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Taylor tries to pull guard but Stevenson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Andrew Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffery Taylor.

Taylor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Taylor.
Stevenson feinted with a counter takedown.

Taylor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stevenson was covering up waiting for the punch and Taylor finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevenson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Taylor trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevenson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Stevenson is pulling down on Taylor's head to control his posture.
Stevenson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Taylor wants to pass the guard but Stevenson is keeping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stevenson looking for a sweep. Not yet Stevenson, not yet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Taylor is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Taylor wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving.
Stevenson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Taylor manages to get himself to full guard.

Taylor trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Taylor looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stevenson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Taylor throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Stevenson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Taylor is in Stevenson's guard.

Taylor wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving.

Taylor trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevenson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stevenson is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeffery Taylor dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Taylor shoots in for a double leg but Stevenson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Taylor closes the distance and clinches.
Stevenson throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Taylor stops a takedown attempt from Stevenson.
Taylor has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stevenson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Taylor drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stevenson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stevenson enables Taylor to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stevenson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Taylor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stevenson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Stevenson controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself.

Stevenson wants to get back to his feet but Taylor is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stevenson is on top in guard.

Taylor looking for a sweep. Not yet Taylor, not yet.
Taylor wants to stand but Stevenson is controlling the position.

Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Stevenson passes into side control.
Taylor tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Stevenson easily slips into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor is desperately trying to improve his position but Stevenson has a good base and remains in mount.
Stevenson avoids the attempt from Taylor to control.
Taylor is trying to escape the mount but Stevenson keeps good control and instead manages to take Taylor's back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Taylor tries to escape but Stevenson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
Taylor trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Stevenson lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Taylor.
Stevenson misses with punches from the back.

Stevenson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Taylor tries to roll but Stevenson sticks to his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Stevenson dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Taylor misses with a combination

and Stevenson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Stevenson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Taylor tries to land a leg kick but Stevenson saw it coming and moves away.
Taylor throws a body kick that misses

and Stevenson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Taylor!
Taylor wants to control but Stevenson postures up.
Taylor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Stevenson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Stevenson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Taylor to his feet.
Stevenson tries for a takedown but Taylor sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Stevenson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Taylor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Taylor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stevenson moves away.

Stevenson drives through and clinches with Taylor against the cage.

Stevenson has Taylor pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stevenson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Taylor tumbling to the mat - Stevenson dives into Taylor's guard.
Taylor wants to stand up but Stevenson is controlling him.

Stevenson gets to his feet. Taylor looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Taylor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stevenson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Taylor somewhat.
Stevenson feinted with a counter takedown.

Taylor moves into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stevenson tries to break free but Taylor pushes him back against the cage.
Taylor looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Taylor fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Taylor is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Stevenson is trying to trip Taylor. He has hold of a leg but Taylor is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stevenson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Stevenson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Stevenson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Taylor working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stevenson.
