Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Juan Santiago Sorias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandar Jankovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sorias comes to the cage accompanied by Fight - Future World Music . Jankovic comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Skillet - Monster kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Aleksandar Jankovic will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juan Santiago Sorias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aleksandar Jankovic!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorias explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Jankovic tries to sprawl but Sorias drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sorias wants to take a breather but Jankovic is having none of it.
Sorias not doing much here.
Jankovic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sorias's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sorias working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jankovic looks for a takedown but Sorias sprawls well.
Sorias has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Araba Fenice in the buildup to the fight.
Sorias lands with a thumping leg kick.
Jankovic takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jankovic slips a jab and a cross from Sorias.
Jankovic moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jankovic looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sorias takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sorias connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jankovic tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jankovic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sorias avoids it really well and circles away.
Sorias plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Aleksandar Jankovic has been cut.

and Sorias makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sorias avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sorias scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jankovic in his tracks.

Sorias digs a good body shot into Jankovic's ribs.
Sorias jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jankovic shoots in but Sorias avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Juan Santiago Sorias has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksandar Jankovic.
Sorias connects with an inside leg kick.
Sorias ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sorias thuds his right hand into Jankovic's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sorias feints and then cracks Jankovic's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jankovic down.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Sorias.

Sorias avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A jab lands there for Jankovic.

Sorias closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sorias lands in his opponent's guard.
Sorias makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Jankovic looks winded!
Sorias is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sorias is stalling in the full guard.
Sorias advances position into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nice uppercut lands for Sorias. That snapped Jankovic's head back.
Jankovic has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jankovic there as he acknowledges the shot.
Juan Santiago Sorias is winning the standup battle so far.
Jankovic gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Jankovic moves away from the strike by Sorias.
Sorias is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jankovic can do to turn this around?
Jankovic takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jankovic bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jankovic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Sorias catches Jankovic napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Jankovic to the canvas!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sorias is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sorias keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jankovic's head.

Sorias happy to just control the position for now.
Sorias trying to control the action but Jankovic is working from the bottom.
Sorias cracks Jankovic with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Sorias looks up at the clock and then as Jankovic takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sorias smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Sorias has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sorias in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Jankovic takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Sorias is chipping away with strikes.
Sorias working the ground and pound.

Sorias is working to tighten his grip on Jankovic's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jankovic has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sorias is really squeezing tight and eventually Jankovic passes out! Sorias breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Juan Santiago Sorias!
Juan Santiago Sorias seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
