Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Adam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Albert Ford!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adam shoots in but no luck this time.
Ford scores with a sloppy right hand. Adam should have avoided that one.
Ford misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sloppy strikes from Ford. Those never looked like landing.
Ford lands with a hook. Adam tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ford. Adam does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ford fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Adam manages to avoid it.

Ford gets a clinch.
Ford gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Adam.
Ford working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Ford breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Adam misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Adam. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ford closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ford breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ford has managed to clinch.

Ford cracks Adam with a nice body shot.

Ford pulls Adam into guard.
Adam pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ford is keeping the position for now.
Adam prevents Ford from getting back to his feet.
Adam trying to control the position from guard on top but Ford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Adam trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ford wants to stand and escape but Adam is having none of it.
Ford keeping full guard, as Adam tries to pass.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ford pulls Adam in to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Adam really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ford gets a clinch.
Adam jumps guard but Ford stands there with Adam around his waist. Adam gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ford digs a right hand into Adam's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Adam's gas tank.
Adam drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ford gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Adam is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Ford gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ford lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Adam backwards.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Ford.
Ford lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Ford jumps into guard, dragging Adam to the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ford can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ford is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ford is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Adam trying to control the position from guard on top but Ford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Adam passes into half guard.
Ford looks like he's trying to stand up.
Adam throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ford wants to get back to full guard.
Adam is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Adam takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ford holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Adam tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Ford tries to buck Adam off but he can't manage it.
Adam takes Ford's back.
Adam is looking to control Ford but Ford is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Adam sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Ford taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mark Adam!
Mark Adam took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I want to thank all my supporters and do not forget also to the coach who never tired of teaching me all these years. Besides that, I want to thank my parents who gave me encouragement. To my opponent, I hope you're all afraid to meet with me because I will kick your ass ...'.
