Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Imperator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boogie Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Imperator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boogie Knight!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Imperator tries to close the distance and clinch but Knight swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Imperator darts in trying to clinch
and Knight counters with a good, hard body kick but Imperator shrugs it off.
Imperator throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Imperator moves out of range of the body kick from Knight.
Knight lands with a shot to the body.
Knight moves into range and clinches up with Imperator.
I was talking to Imperator's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A body shot lands from Knight.
Knight throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Imperator blocks it with crossed arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Knight.
Imperator's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Knight lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A short left from Knight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knight gets through Imperator's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Knight lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Imperator.
Knight jerks Imperator's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Imperator drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Knight goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Knight because Imperator was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Boogie Knight!
