Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hardwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Hardwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker with a lazy takedown attempt

and Hardwood counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tucker!
Hardwood is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Tucker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hardwood wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Hardwood is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tucker has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hardwood creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tucker wants to control but Hardwood postures up.
Tucker looks to move to half guard but instead Hardwood has passed into mount! Damn!

Tucker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hardwood lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Tucker hang on?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardwood lands a big shot there that rocks Tucker but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hardwood controlling the position easily from mount.
Hardwood has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tucker's face.
Hardwood with a couple of short strikes.
Hardwood lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hardwood tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hardwood looking to finish Tucker with some ground and pound. This is bad for Tucker!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hardwood sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Tucker is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hardwood controlling the pace for now.
BOOM! Hardwood connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Tucker wants to get back to his feet.

Hardwood seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Tucker is trying to maintain the position but Hardwood is very close to passing his half guard.
Hardwood drops an elbow to the side of Tucker's head.
Hardwood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tucker on the ground.
Hardwood is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hardwood blocks the strikes from Tucker.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tucker trying to control from the bottom.
Hardwood lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hardwood looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tucker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Hardwood dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hardwood digs a good hook to Tucker's body.
Hardwood lands a jab to Tucker's midsection.
Tucker shoots in for a takedown but Hardwood shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hardwood gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A head punch on the inside from Hardwood fails to land.
Tucker's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Hardwood gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Hardwood is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tucker can do to turn this around?

Tucker is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hardwood pulls his head out easily.

Hardwood winds up and cracks Tucker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hardwood is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Tucker is looking to improve his position.
Hardwood lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hardwood trying to pass the guard but Tucker defending well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hardwood connects with a nice short shot to Tucker's temple.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tucker tries to roll over but Hardwood keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hardwood in particular looking to stall.
Tucker wants to get back to full guard.
Hardwood is nestled in close to Tucker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Still in half guard, Hardwood seems content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hardwood wants to free his trapped foot but Tucker is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hardwood slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tucker wants to clinch.
Hardwood's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hardwood duly obliges.
Tucker ducks under a wild hook from Hardwood.
Tucker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hardwood but Hardwood pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hardwood scores with a jab. Tucker acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hardwood misses with a low kick.
Hardwood misses with a hook. Tucker ducked under it nicely.
And Tucker tries to counter it with a takedown but Hardwood pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Hardwood drops Tucker with a beautiful combination! Tucker stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hardwood is looking for the KO!


Tucker is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tucker gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Hardwood gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Tucker is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Hardwood!
Joe Hardwood bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
