The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Georges checks a leg kick nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Georges! But no joy.
Conte tries to close the distance and clinch up but Georges swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Georges looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Georges checks a low kick from Conte.
Conte delivers a nice body kick.
Conte throws a leg kick
and Conte takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Conte lands a big head kick that sends Georges tumbling to the mat! Conte takes a step backwards and waves Georges back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Georges tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Conte fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Georges, pushing him back against the cage.
Conte escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Georges seems to have recovered his senses.
Georges loads up on a big right hand but Conte slips the punch.
Conte moves into range and connects with a jab.
Georges lands a leg kick that knocks Conte off balance momentarily.
Conte tries to work over Georges's front leg with a kick but Georges checks it.

Georges takes a swing at Conte's ribcage but misses.
Conte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Conte wants it to stay on the feet.
Conte throws a right hand that Georges ducks under and follows up with a left that Georges also avoids with ease.
Conte tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Georges is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Conte with a body shot.
Georges shoots in and drives through. Conte sprawls well.

Georges throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Georges tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Conte swivels and escapes.
Giorgio Conte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Georges.
Conte lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Conte fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Georges looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Conte paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Conte takes a swing at Georges's ribcage but misses.
Georges throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Conte counters with a stiff right hand.
Conte thows a leg kick but Georges checks it
and Georges counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Georges swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Conte.
Georges gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Georges tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Conte was well out of range. Poor timing from Georges.
Georges misses the shot to the body.
Conte misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Georges counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Conte throws a head kick but Georges moves out of range.
Georges dips to his left and cracks Conte with an uppercut!

Georges looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Georges doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Conte counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Georges swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Conte is looking to counter with a body kick.
Georges is trying hard to land a takedown here. Conte sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Georges connects with a single shot there.
Conte looks to score with a jab to the body but Georges is just out of range.
Georges misses with a hook. Conte ducked under it nicely.
Conte moves into range and clinches up with Georges.
Georges jumps into guard, dragging Conte to the mat.
Conte is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Georges has his foot on Conte's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Conte works his way back into a safe position though.

Georges is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Conte is aware though and is defending well.
Georges has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Conte doesn't defend quickly enough and Georges has managed to lock this one up! Can Conte escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Georges on a fantastic submission victory.
